Your tier is based on the number of months you’ve been actively subscribed. If you pause, your progress is saved — you’ll pick up right where you left off when you resume. If you cancel, your tier progress ends, and restarting later begins a new membership at month 0. That’s why pausing is the best option if you just need a break.
